Our online sessions, known as Knowledge Blocks, offer individuals and small teams of educators the chance to choose their learning paths in evidence-aligned literacy instruction.

Anyone can take our Online Academy Knowledge Blocks. Educators, administrators, and other stakeholders will increase their knowledge about the science of reading by participating in our Knowledge Blocks. Click “view details” on any Knowledge Block for the session description and the suggested audience.

Yes! You will receive a certificate of completion upon completing the Knowledge Block. The attendee is responsible for printing and processing the certificate through their channels. The Reading League is officially accredited to provide training credits by ALTA, IMSLEC, and New York State CTLE. However, many other organizations and state education departments accept our training as part of their program.

We recommend starting with the Foundations of the Science of Reading Knowledge Block. This session will give participants a solid foundational knowledge base they can build on in subsequent sessions.

We provide a Science of Reading Overview & Word Recognition Bundle, offering a $200 discount. The discount is automatically applied at checkout when you register for the bundle and includes four Knowledge Blocks:

• Phonological Awareness: What, Why, and How?
• Phonic Knowledge: What, Why, and How?
• 6-Step Lesson Plan for Decoding, Spelling, and Fluency

All sessions are in Eastern Time.

Each Knowledge Block is 2.5 hours, with a brief ten-minute break halfway through the session.

No. Our live, interactive Knowledge Blocks are not recorded.

All of our Knowledge Blocks are offered at various times throughout the year.

To register for a Knowledge Block, visit Online Academy and browse our available sessions. Select a session time for the Knowledge Block you wish to attend and add it to your cart for registration.

Yes, you can register someone else from your organization. Individual user accounts are created upon registration, and you’ll need to share the username and password with the individual.  When registering someone else, please use their email address.

To pay with a Purchase Order, select the “Pay with a Purchase Order” option at checkout. You’ll need to upload the Purchase Order when you make your purchase.

Online Academy is best suited for individuals and small teams of educators seeking to build their knowledge of the Science of Reading. Each user will need to register on their own to create an account. They may pay with the same purchase order upon checkout.

To find the Zoom link or a list of Knowledge Blocks you’ve signed up for, log into your account. You’ll see a list of all your signed-up sessions with details such as date, time, Zoom links, and access to follow-up materials and certificates of completion.

No, each person must register and pay individually to attend a Knowledge Block. You may only participate with others who have also registered and paid for the session.

To request a refund, log in to your Online Academy account and select the ‘request a refund’ option
