In this presentation, Nancy will provide an overview of her translational framework The Ladder of Reading & Writing© (2023), particularly addressing the needs of those students with dyslexia who also have co-occurring exceptionalities. As she expands on the message of differentiation in the purple arrow of her infographic, Nancy will give examples of instructional needs for certain exceptionalities that can co-occur alongside dyslexia, including ADHD, DLD, and giftedness. Nancy will emphasize the importance of collaboration, including parents/caregivers as integral and valued members of the team, in the systematic design of instruction and related support for both academic and social-emotional growth.  During this session, Dr. Young will be referencing chapters from her co-edited professional development book “Climbing THE LADDER OF READING & WRITING: Meeting the Needs of ALL Learners” (2024).
