Book Study: The Reading Comprehension Blueprint

Join The Reading League North Carolina and International Dyslexia Association North Carolina Branch as we read and discuss The Reading Comprehension Blueprint. This summer book study will begin with a kickoff session with Nancy Hennessy, author of the book and a North Carolina resident! Then, participants will have the opportunity to join virtual book study with breakout room facilitators throughout the summer to build community around this shared text. Finally, we will end our book study with Nancy Hennessy in a Q/A format about implementation.

Summer Book Study: Effective Universal Instruction Book Study

The Reading League chapter network is excited to bring you a unique learning opportunity this summer! Join chapters nationwide for a self-guided book study on Effective Universal Instruction by Drs. Gibbons, Brown, and Niebling. We'll kick things off on Mon., June 17 at 7pm ET / 4pm PT with a live, virtual session featuring Dr. Stephanie Stollar sharing MTSS as the essential implementation tool for the science of reading.

Each Monday for the next five weeks, you'll receive an email with a pacing guide, recorded videos with the authors to deepen your understanding of each chapter, and links to additional resources related to the content. You can read, watch, and explore on your own time - whenever it works best for you! Save your questions and insights as you read because we'll wrap up this summer of learning with another live Zoom session with authors Dr. Kimberly Gibbons and Dr. Sarah Brown on Mon, July 29 at 7pm ET / 4pm PT.

All you need to do is register once for the book study, and we'll send you the Zoom links and weekly resources to make this an impactful learning opportunity. The Reading League Colorado is hosting our first annual, in person Symposium, 5280 Literacy Leadership Symposium: A Call to Action on June 22, 2024. Our organization aims to advance evidence-aligned reading instruction. Our first symposium will focus on providing a landscape to the relevancy of getting reading instruction right for children in Colorado. We have a good foundation, but we need to ensure key stakeholders have a sense of urgency to support all our kids in Colorado to achieve their right to read!
